Our Company
Baker Birdwell, LLC was formed from the merger of Birdwell Insurance Group and Baker & Baker Company. Our Company specializes in providing solutions to your clients' disability income insurance needs. We support you in selling the need for coverage through the entire underwriting process all the way to policy delivery. We represent a group of highly rated insurance carriers, but these carriers do not employ us - we work for you. This allows us to locate the best coverage to meet your clients' unique needs, regardless of industry or occupations.
Whether it is an individual policy, a supplemental policy to group LTD, a Business Overhead Expense policy, or a policy to fund a buy-sell agreement, we are here to help.

Clay began his career with Provident Life and Accident in the Nashville and Knoxville offices before moving to Fort Worth as a branch manager. Under Clay's leadership, Fort Worth became Provident's national leader for cities its size. In 1997, Clay moved home to middle Tennessee to develop a brokerage division for the Guardian. He grew it into the Birdwell Insurance Group, offering the best in individual disability insurance for any occupation class from blue collar to the highest earners.

Galt began his career with Corroon & Black Benefits (now Willis) in 1984 working in group health insurance. In 1988, he went with Taylor Financial Corporation to start a group insurance division. In 1992, Galt and Todd Baker formed Baker & Baker Company as a firm specializing in insurance services for employers. He has extensive experience in multi-life disability cases including simplified issue and guaranteed standard issue programs for employers.

Kara began working as a Credentialing Coordinator in Vanderbilt's Psychiatry Department. She then worked with Guardian Life before joining Clay at Birdwell Insurance Group. She works as a Sales Coordinator steering your cases through underwriting with several of our carriers.

Christi worked as an Administrative Assistant at Lincoln Financial Group. She joined Clay at Birdwell Insurance Group as a Customer Service Rep before moving into underwriting. She works with several of our other carriers in assisting your cases through the underwriting process. |

Nancy started with Corroon & Black as a commission accounting specialist. She worked with Galt as a Service Coordinator for 12 years at Baker & Baker Company. Whether it's a billing issue or a claim problem, Nancy can help you with your administrative issues. |

Virginia is a Louisana native and attends Cumberland University in Lebanon. As an intern, she works with you on running proposals and providing sales and marketing support. |
